For any of you ladies who watch the Christmas movies on lifetime Channel, this bridge and the entire village of Vermilionville was the setting where this years movie "The Christmas Contract" was filmed.
The Bayou Vermilion District (Lafayette, Louisiana) opened the Vermilionville Living History Museum and Folklife Park as a way to preserve and represent the Acadian, Creole and Native American cultures in the Attakapas region from 1765-1890. Since its opening in 1990, the historic village has become one of Lafayette’s premier tourist attractions welcoming more than 60,000 visitors each year from around the world.
Vermilionville sits on a beautiful tree-covered 23-acre site on the banks of the Bayou Vermilion with 19 attractions, including seven restored original homes with costumed artisans that provide demonstrations on crafts performed by the early settlers. Vermilionville provides its guests with a place for history, music, food, cultural exchange, historic architecture and much more.
