June 17, 2019 -- Tuzigoot Ruins
.
View from atop a portion of the Tuzigoot ruins near Clarkdale, Arizona.
Tuzigoot is a small national monument where the remains of dwellings of the 12th century Sinagua Indians are preserved. Tuzigoot comprises a cluster of buildings, on top of a small sandstone ridge close to the Verde River valley near the towns of Clarkdale and Cottonwood. The river plain is home to several unusual species of birds, including the great horned owl.

on June 17, 2019Interesting ruins. The rooms seem to have no doors, so I'm guessing they were entered through the roof. Nicely composed shot to include the landscape beyond, as well as the ruins.
