The Buckaneer, AKA The Hurricane Saloon -- a local "watering hole" near University of Tulsa takes its name from the moniker for school's athletic teams (The Golden Hurricane). Never really understood what Hurricane had to do with Tulsa or Oklahoma, but they didn't ask for my input. :-)

3 weeks agoDuring my travels, when I stumble upon murals that need to be "retouched," I am always hopeful that the artist(s) will take the time to do so! In my honest and humble opinion, it would be a great idea if all cities/towns honored each local high school, junior high school and elementary school. with a composite "Mascots Mural" for a total of three distinct murals! I am in the education profession and always so full of unique and "out of the box" ideas!

3 weeks agoThat's a very cool mural, and it's so close to home. Yes, I agree that the name Hurricane doesn't seem to fit well, but hey - they didn't ask me either. LOL.
