This is a view of my hometown (Hawthorne, Nevada) approaching from the SW on Highway 359. Hawthorne is 1-mile square on the Nevada Desert. Although it looks close in this telephoto shot, the lake (Walker Lake) is actually about 12 miles from town. This is a scan from a 35mm negative I took during a 1993 visit to Hawthorne for a 30th Class reunion. Oringal photo/negative was taken with an Olympus OM-4T.

on May 16, 2022What a fabulous shot with the film camera, and you really got a great scan. I love the leading line that the highway presents. We've spent a lot of time in the deserts of Nevada and other states. Fine image Frank!
