January 16, 2022 -- Harry "Sundance Kid" Longabaugh
.
Sundance, Wyoming was horse thief Harry "Sundance Kid" Longabaugh's home town. A statue of the Kid lounging in his cell stands on the site of a jail where he was locked up, serving 18 months in jail for stealing a slow horse. The sculpture was done by artist Edward Hlavka.
The original jail was torn down in 1968. In the basement of the old Crook County Courthouse -- now the Crook County Museum -- is the original furniture from the courtroom where the Sundance Kid was put on trial. The museum is adjacent to this sculpture.

on January 17, 2022Outstanding shot Frank and a wonderful sculpture! Clever to work the jail cell into the sculpture. Very interesting history and a great lesson: Never steal a slow horse.

on January 16, 2022Really creative way to suggest the jailhouse, as part of the sculpture to tell the story of the "Kid"! Well captured--I like your showing the trees all around it.
