Found this pristine (restored) locomotive at the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum in Strasburg, PA. Pennsylvania Railroad Locomotive #5901 saw service on multiple PRR lines until its retirement in 1973. It was restored to its circa 1955 appearance in the 1990s and is the last surviving Model E7 Locomotive. Built by the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors in 1945 as their model E7 passenger train locomotive, it weighed in at 315,000 lbs and was rated at 2,000 horsepower. This locomotive and its sister # 5900 (now defunct) have the distinction of being the first pair of passenger diesels delivered to the PRR. The General Motors Electro-Motive Division built 428 of this cab version between 1948 and 1949.
