April 17, 2017 -- Oklahoma City National Memorial
This week (April 19) is the 22nd anniversary of the tragic bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. All my daily posts this week will be in honor of this anniversary. The bombing occurred on April 19, 1995.
If you're ever in the Oklahoma City area, you NEED to take the time to visit this museum and it's self-guided tour. Be sure to have a good supply of tissues.
The Museum entrance is surrounded by the children's area. The Chidren's Area Wall of hand-painted tiles, at the entrance to the Oklahoma National Memorial & Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This small wall is covered with an assortment of tiles, designed by children from across the country and surrounds the Children's Area. Chalkboards (black rectangles in the foreground) are laid out on the ground in the shape of oversized cards and letters, are there to encourage children of all ages to leave their own messages of hope and comfort.
