August 18, 2016 - 1947 Flying Station Wagon
Found this 1947 Stinson Flying Station Wagon at a recent fly-in of antique & classic aircraft near Oolagah, Oklahoma.
I recently had the opportunity to attend a "fly-in" of classic & antique aircraft (no jets) at Will Rogers' old grass airfield at his home ranch (Dog Iron Ranch) in Oolagah, Oklahoma. This annual fly-in held each August honors the memory of Will Rogers, who died along with pilot Wiley Post in a crash at Point Barrow Alaska on 8/15/1935.
The participating aircraft were primarily pre-1960 models and several of the “experimental” or “Home Made” class, and included several of the World War I double-wing type. Very interesting event.
